Bangabandhu today in Times Square
Times Square, the main tourist attraction of New York City where an estimated five crore visitors visit a year has been experiencing today ( August 15) the screening of the audio-visual clip of the Architect of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On the occasion of the National Mourning Day of Bangladesh, the clip of Bangabandhu is being screened 720 times, that is every two minutes in 24 hours on the world-famous huge 'Ball Drop' billboard in Times Square.
The audio-visual clip shows the memorable moments of different times including the historic 7 March speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AK Abdul Momen informed that this initiative has been taken as part of the ongoing event on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary.
The initiative was taken by an expatriate Bangladeshi named Fahim with the financial support of Exim Bank and Anwar Group. He took the initiative through his US-based New York Dream Productions.
